Put Your Hair In A Top Knot

A top know allows your hair to dry naturally after washing.

You’re short on time in the morning and the last thing you need is to spend a big part of it trying to get your hair right.  Fortunately, there are some things you can do the night before to ensure you wake up in the morning with beautiful tresses that look like you got up early.

Night before hair trick #1: Moisturise your mane

Dry, damaged hair can be hard to manage.  Before going to bed, apply a nourishing product to damp hair.  While you snooze, it goes to work hydrating, nourishing, and protecting your hair so you wake up with soft, silky, perfectly moisturized, tangle free strands is a great overnight hair care tip.

Night before hair trick #2: Tame it with a topknot

Blow drying can damage hair, but air drying can cause fly away frizzies.  What to do?  Try tying them up into a loose topknot before turning in for the night.  Tie your hair up into a ponytail on top of your head, then wrap your hair around the the tail and hold it with an elastic and plenty of bobby pins.  Unravel it in the morning for gorgeous waves.

Night before hair trick #3: Tie up your tresses

Instead of a topknot, try tying your hair into a loose low bun to keep it from getting tangled overnight.  In the morning, you won’t have to deal with knots and errant strands.

Night before hair trick #4: Fight the frizz

If you’ve ever gone to bed with your hair looking perfect and woken up to unmanageable frizz, try spraying a bit of leave-in conditioner and tying your hair into either a topknot or a low bun before turning in.  The conditioner will leave your hair free of frizz and as smooth as it gets, having it wrapped into a bun will leave you with luxurious, tangle-free waves that are sure to get you compliments.

Night before hair trick #5: Beautiful braids

If you find it hard to sleep with your hair in a bun, you can also try braiding your hair before bed for stunning waves.  Braid it in one large braid for soft waves, two or more for tighter waves.  In the morning, unbraid your hair, run your fingers through and scrunch a bit of mouse into the ends.  Don’t brush it or you’ll trade your beautiful waves for frizz.

Night before hair trick #6: Overhand knots

This one is a little tricky, but when done right, looks fantastic.  Practice on a day when you don’t have to be anywhere early.  Part your hair in the middle and divide each side into two sections.  Tie the sections into a basic overhand knot.  Keep knotting until you run out of hair.  Unless your hair is really long, this will likely only be a couple of knots.  Repeat on the other side.

Night before hair trick #7: Change your pillowcase

Cotton pillowcases can suck the moisture out of your hair and the friction from moving around in your sleep can cause static.  Switching to a satin or silk pillowcase, or wrapping your hair in a silk scarf can ease the frizzies.

With these night before tricks, you can catch a few extra zzz’s in the morning and still have beautiful hair that looks like you spent forever on it.
